Kalyn Asher - President

Kalyn Asher has 22 years of media experience.  She started Asher Media in a spare bedroom of her home in the fall of 1999.  Today, Asher Media is a $50+ million media planning and buying agency and is one of the fastest growing media agencies in the country.  She began her career at McCann Erickson in 1990, and has also managed client media efforts at Temerlin McClain (now TM), TracyLocke and MediaWise on a variety of accounts such as PIzza Hut, GTE Telecommunications, Texas Instruments, Rockwell, Bell Helicopter, American Airlines Sabre, Mattress Firm, Dallas Mavericks and Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Kalyn serves on the Greater Dallas Area Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society as the marketing and communications representative.  She was named 2009 and 2011 Agency Owner & President of the Year for the Dallas chapter of the Alliance for Women in Media.  Asher Media was awarded the coveted Agency of the Year by AWM for 2010 and 2001.

Lora Funderburk - Director of Media Services

Lora brings over 30 years of management in strategic media planning and media buying with experience in both the national and local arena on a vast number of accounts.

At Southwest Media Group, Lora was the Planning Director and National Broadcast Buyer for Dillard’s Department Stores and five Kimberly Clark brands.

At Tracy Locke Partnership, Lora was Partner/Director of Media Services providing strategic management of Pepsi, Pizza Hut, Harrah’s Casinos and Fastsigns.  Lora also brings two years of sales experience from AMFM Radio Networks where she was a manager responsible for developing customized programs for clients such as JCPenney, Chili’s Bar & Grill, Motel 6, Greyhound Bus Lines, MasterCard and Pennzoil in the Southeast/Southwest region.

Lora spent the first 20 years of her career at Tracy-Locke/DDB Needham, 11 years planning and 9 years buying, on Frito-Lay brands, Coors, McIlhenny Tabasco Sauce, Taco Bell, GTE and Phillips Petroleum.

West Austin spa named No. 21 best resort in the world

The lifestyle and travel magazine hosts its Readers Choice Awards poll every year to determine the best luxury destinations and services around the globe. Having been selected for the past five years, Lake Austin Spa Resort now has an esteemed place on the Condé Nast Traveler’s “Platinum Circle,” which chronicle’s the magazine’s favorite destination resorts.
